companies I can think of would do things this way.

appointed "archivers", who are "doing the net a great service" by
forcing me to do extra work.

Here's a fun suggestion: Unsubscribe them from your list, but don't tell
them you did it, and every day or two, send them a few uuencoded core files
to the archiving address.
Naturally, I wouldn't do such a thing myself. But boy, it's sure fun to
think about.
