List politics?

>I have recently encountered an interesting problem concerning users on my list. A number of subscribers on my list got together & requested that another member be removed.  The reason for the request seems to be ethic violations concerning personal flames among other things.

He has not violated any list rules, as far as public flaming etc. But seems to be real quick to have a sharp tongue when it comes to personal email.  My problem is this:  Even though he seems to be detrimental to the whole community of which the mailing list is a part of.  He has not broken any list rules. Considering every mailing list has a subject & could be considered a community or a part of a community.  Should someone be removed for damaging that community or should the list owner not be swayed by personal issues concerning list members?
