So, here's a question: assuming you're *not* putting addresses on the
To: line, how do you go about preventing people from looking through
their mail headers, picking out the "distribution" address, and sending
mail through your system to your list subscribers directly? I've
already chosen a non-standard distribution alias (_not_ list-dist...),
but it is still easy enough for someone with a clue to pick out this
info and decide that they want to spam the list (even if by accident).
Other than automatically keeping the alias line in /etc/aliases
uncommented (until there's a mail to send, when some script would
uncomment the alias, run "newaliases", make the mailing, comment the
alias out again, and then run "newaliases" again), is there some easy
way?
