I guess you could try LSTOWN-L@SEARN.SUNET.SE. There's the occasional
bout of AOL bashing (it's really hard to prevent unless you're up 24h),
but the ranting is not permitted to drag on for long. MTA contests are in
most cases off topic and thus not allowed, as this is a list for list
owners, not for server administrators. With a handful of exceptions, MTA
issues are things for the server administrator to worry about. Bounces or
irritating MTA behaviour that affects list owners would be on topic,
though. MTA security flame wars would definitely not qualify. And spam is
filtered. All in all, volume is lower and much more focused.

However, this list is specific to LISTSERV, so before you join there are
a few things you should know:

- Questions specific to Majordomo or ListProc or whatever are off topic
and not allowed. There are other lists for that, and I mean it. The
vast majority of subscribers are LISTSERV users and couldn't care less
how you enable option XYZ under Majordomo.

- Questions specific to LISTSERV, on the other hand, ARE allowed. This is
one of the main purposes of the list.

  Eric
